In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, and the recent decision by Randolph-Macon College to move to remote instruction, the Counseling Center will remain open; however, as with instruction, we will be focusing our efforts on remote operations. Our process for scheduling appointments will be modified during this period.

During this time, we will offer consultations via phone or zoom.

Until further notice, we will not be holding face to face meetings with clients in the center.

Students in crisis on campus are encouraged to contact Campus Safety at 804-752-4710, or 911.  Students off campus are encouraged to call 911. For local crisis services in Virginia, please contact your county . Other crisis resources are the Disaster Stress Hotline the National the Suicide Prevention Lifeline, the Text Line, and the Disaster Distress Helpline (see bottom of page).

Students are encouraged to make good use of natural sources of support (friends, family, faith communities, etc.), to get plenty of exercise and sleep, and as appropriate, to make good use of therapeutic resources in their ck棋牌 communities. Consult with your primary care provider, or your county mental health services (CSB in Virginia), for referrals.

The Center for Counseling ck棋牌 strives to foster the holistic development of students in the Randolph-Macon community.

The Center seeks to be a bridge between the theoretical world of academics and the psycho-social life of students beyond the classroom. Through the therapeutic process students are assisted in clarifying their values, interests, and life goals as they concurrently work to increase their levels of self-determination, goal directness, and independent functioning. The Center endeavors to promote the development of the whole, mature student while supporting the mission of the College.

  • Referral services when deemed appropriate or preferred by the student

Counseling ck棋牌 Wellness Advisors provide workshops on a variety of topics, online mental health screenings, and alcohol/drug education classes.

Brief consultations and referrals are available to faculty and staff.

Clinical staff follow the legal and ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association and the American Counseling Association for professional behavior and confidentiality. Dr. Craig Anderson, Dr. Beth Schubert, and Chantelle Bernard provide counseling services.
